Salik

Salik (In Arabic: سالك meaning “clear and moving”) is the name given to the electronic toll road system in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which is based on RFID technology, automatically deducting a fee when a toll gate is passed under. The Salik toll was launched by Dubai’s Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on 1 July 2007.

Salik, the automated electronic toll gate system in Dubai, is a successful project by the Road and Transport Authority (RTA). Every car in Dubai or arriving in Dubai is required to register for Salik. Salik tags allow you to pay tolls in Dubai without stopping at every toll gate. Once you have attached the Salik label to your car’s windscreen, the fee is automatically deducted from your Salik account. However, for this to happen you should have enough balance in your account. Apart from topping up your account, you need to check your Salik balance using the Salik account number.
